چکیده
Malignant melanoma is one of the most important tumors in dogs and highly metastatic aggressive disease. In recent years, molecular knowledge regarding canine has increased, some chromosomal imbalances tyrosine kinase pathways have been identified to be dysregulated. Mxoreover, an immunogenic tumor that provides opportunities administer immunotherapy patient. Podoplanin chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan-4 (CSPG4) are markers against which monoclonal antibodies developed tested vivo with promising results. Owing importance veterinary oncology field, this chapter reviews aspects related immunological involvement prognosis treatment melanoma.

Cancer immunology and canine malignant melanoma: A comparative review.
Oral canine malignant melanoma (CMM) is a spontaneously occurring aggressive tumour with relatively few medical treatment options, which provides a suitable model for the disease in humans. Historically, multiple immunotherapeutic strategies aimed at provoking both innate and adaptive anti-tumour immune responses have been published with varying levels of activity against CMM. Recently, a plasm...

The stimulation of the immune system, in order to generate an attack against cancer cells, similarly to that which occurs in infectious disease, has long been matter of interest in oncology; however, only limited success has been achieved, with different treatment strategies tested in recent years. The development of new immune checkpoint inhibitors is currently changing this scenario, and immu...

Demodex mites colonized the hair follicles and sebaceous glands of mammals millions of years ago and have remained relatively unchanged in this protected ecologic niche since then. The host immune system detects and tolerates their presence. Toll-like receptor-2 of keratinocytes has been demonstrated to recognize mite chitin and to elicit an innate immune response. The subsequent acquired immun...
متن کاملComparative Aspects of Canine Melanoma
Melanomas are malignant neoplasms originating from melanocytes. They occur in most animal species, but the dog is considered the best animal model for the disease. Melanomas in dogs are most frequently found in the buccal cavity, but the skin, eyes, and digits are other common locations for these neoplasms. The aim of this review is to report etiological, epidemiological, pathological, and mole...

Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies targeting cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) or programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) has improved the survival of patients with metastatic melanoma. These agents carry a certain risk of adverse immune-related events. We present a patient with widely metastatic melanoma who was initially treated with ipilimumab and subsequently with nivolumab. After four...
